How to keep the image sharp
- Start from the largest original you have. When your crop has fewer pixels than the size you download, the image gets enlarged and looks soft, and the tool tells you.
- Make a separate crop for each format instead of letting the platform cut one file. Text and faces near the edges are the first to go.
- In 9:16 Stories and Reels the app covers the top and the bottom of the frame. Check it in Safe zones before you publish.
- Save photos as JPG and graphics with text as PNG. Meta and Google Ads accept both for image ads.
FAQ
Why does the tool say my image will be enlarged?
Because the part you cropped has fewer pixels than the size you download. The browser then stretches it, and it looks soft. Zoom out, crop less tightly or start from a larger photo.
Can I keep the whole image without cropping?
Yes. Click Show the whole image and choose a background color. The image fits inside the frame and the empty space gets that color.
Does each format keep its own crop?
Yes. The tool remembers the position and the zoom for each format, so you can set all five and download them together in one ZIP. Formats you did not touch are centered.
Do you see or keep my image?
No. Your files never leave your device. The browser crops and saves the image in this tab, and nothing is uploaded or stored.
